About the Minnesota Minx
The Minnesota Minx are a nonprofit women’s tackle football team competing in division 3 of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA). It is the mission of the Minx to provide an inclusive, safe, accessible, and uplifting environment for womxn to develop, engage, and showcase their athletic, organizational, and leadership skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Treasurer is the finance & accounting department for the team. They are responsible for budgeting the income and expenses for the organization to ensure financial stability. They are accountable for depositing the income from dues, fundraisers, and sponsors. They manage the team bank accounts and pay expenses in a timely manner. The Treasurer is responsible for sponsor relationships in so far as to ensure that it is an equitable arrangement for both parties. They are an active and engaged member of the Fundraising Committee. They are the main contact for the Minnesota Minx regarding financial, non-profit, and legal issues. The Treasurer should be familiar with finance and accounting methods and tools, especially MS Excel. They should be attentive to detail and be judicious with the team’s funds. The Treasurer shall make a report at each board meeting, will help to develop fundraising plans, and make financial information available to board members and the public.
They are responsible for developing and reviewing fiscal procedures and any major changes to the budget, which shall be reviewed by the Board of Directors or executive committee. In general, they will perform all duties incident to the office of treasurer and such other duties as may be required by law, by the articles of incorporation of the corporation, or by these bylaws, or which may be assigned to them from time to time by the Board of Directors.
